There is 2 semi qualifying dates for the finalists May 2nd (A)-May 9th (B) Contest starts at 8:30pm.
Week (1) - Thanks to all singers and friends that showed up on our first night of qualifying to kick
off the 2010 International Karaoke Contest. Judges awarded Harvey a pass for his out of the box performance of Geo Straight The Chair. Showmanship at it's best.
Props are always a good thing.
REMEMBER get there early to practice the contest always starts by 7:30pm
Week (2) - There were 12 singers. It was girls night out this week. Where are the guys. They must be afraid. lol. Each week its going to get harder and harder.
Week (3) - There were 13 singers. Thank you for a great turn out.  Some new faces were in attendance. The singers are getting better and better. Judges are glad to meet with any singer after the contest to discuss what can make you better.
Week (4) - There were 10 singers. Saw some new faces in the crowd singing and checking it out. That's always good and welcome all. Once again some of you that did not make the cut don't be discouraged. Talk to other singers that found out how to get better at a particular thing that your performance is missing. Some of these singers have done this many times before they made it. Look at the judging requirements before you come down. Ask questions and never be afraid to show true emotion during a song
Week (5) - Wow!  The spring like weather and the time change made this week of qualifying was postponed. It will be made up by having (4) qualify on weeks 6-7-8 in stead of (3). I am not going to say no one was there but the singers that were there did not feel right to qualify with such a small amount of contestants competing. The time we start is being moved to 7pm. The contest will begin around 8:30pm. THIS A ALL EXPENSE PAID TRIP TO LAS VEGAS WITH A CHANCE THAT YOU or YOUR FRIEND COULD WIN $5,0000. Tell someone you know that can sing to get down here and qualify. Something like this in Modesto don't happen all the time.

Each finalist receives a $15.00 gift certificate from Yosemite Lanes.
Suggestion: Slow songs don't usually win unless sang absolutely perfect. Sing the song that is popular and you have it down perfectly. Don't try new stuff during the competition. Stage presence dose not mean jumping around in the audience or even going into the audience. There a reason they call it STAGE presence. Start on the stage and end on stage. Show the audience you feel the song. Dress to impress!!!

2009 INTERNATIONAL
KARAOKE CONTEST
Congratulations to Gregg Scudder of Ceres for Winning the 2009 International Karaoke Contest. Gregg represented Modesto and Yosemite Lanes in Las Vegas. He did not get to the top 10. He competed against 68 singers form across the United States and made the first cut. This was my first experience at this competition and there was some great performers/singers. Gregg was a class act all the way. Thanks so much to all the singers this year. Every year it seems we get better and better singers from N. California. Hope to see everyone next year. Gregg will have to wait another year to compete again. So who is it going to be in 2010. Thanks Again Bill Heyden
